No new work lately

No new work lately but will do some this weekend. Got some nice stuff for Christmas including a garage heater. Got some parts for the car too. I'm going to try my hand at lead working too. There's a bad part on the roof I want to lead instead of bondo. I'll keep you posted.

No work done yesterday

I didn't get out to the garage yesterday. Wrapped Christmas presents instead to try and stay ahead of the game.

Got home too late to do any work yesterday. I'll be leaving work early today to be home to meet the water heater guy (water heater is acting up). So I should be able to get some work done on the car today and tonight. I hope to get the rest of the grinding done and address that dent. I was supposed to watch the video again on how to use the shrinking disk but didn't get to it. I'll watch while waiting for the heater guy.

Just an update

Just an update to keep from neglecting this blog. I'm still working on the patched rear quarter. I've been grinding down the welds a little at a time so as to not heat up the panel and possibly warp it. There are still some pinholes in the welds that I'll have to fill. I've been welding them closed a few at a time. One thing I need to address is a slight dent in the rear quarter. It's not on the patch I welded in place, but it is in a difficult area to reach. I'm going to have to cut out some of the inner fender so I can reach it to hold a dolly against it. I tried doing it from the top but there was no way I could hold the dolly and slap the panel, and be able to see what I was doing. So I'll cut out a little of the inner fender and weld it back in place when I'm done.

I'm a bad blogger

I know, I haven't posted anything in a while. Anyway, here is an update: I've welded in the rocker panel (again) and reinstalled the doors (just to check the fit for now). I also cut out the bad section of the rear quarter and welded in the patch panel that was removed from another car. Here are the photos of that work.
